Coach's Notes 1.1.2026
Happy New Year! We hope that everyone had a great holiday season. As we enter January we also return to our regular training schedules. As always, here are a few reminders:
- GOOD LUCK ALL-STAR swimmers: Will W., Leilani H., Seb G., Frank S., Ben N, and Jackson W. Have a great time in Indianapolis. We will be cheering for you.
- Please make sure that your emails on your accts are emails that are used and looked at regularly. A number of people have missed deadlines because notifications are being sent to work emails that might be blocked or personal emails that are set up for taking adds, sales or nuisance emails.
- MONTI meet is closed.
- MAKO meet is closed ~ this meet is being restructured to a single session per day. Information has been sent to those swimming in this meet.
- The TUNA meet entry process is closing soon. As host of this meet, we need to get our entries in sooner than invited teams. This will allow us to know how many teams we can accept. Should there be inquiries, we will know how many additional teams we can include. Volunteer sign up is now posted. Please note that meet is split by age. 12 and olders are on Saturday and 11 and unders are on Sunday.
- SEA DEVIL meet is the last meet of the regular season. There are quantity/ age and speed limitations on the distance entries we can submit. Please note in the memo section any distance you are interested in swimming.
- BRONZE championships. Mn Swimming has sent a Test file for us to use and turn in on JAN 6th. This is a data collection process to make sure that sites do not get over crowded. Once this information is sent and reviewed, the current file will be adjusted as needed and sent to teams to use. It also serves as a tool for parents to see what events swimmers are qualified to swim. There will be TT at the Bronze Championship those interested in updating a longer distance time. Coaches will be making arrangements gor TT on deck. These TT must make sense and be an appropriate event for that age group.
- HS boys should be signing up for the MRC and State meets now. This will be a way for us to make sure everyone who needs to have their USA renewal done, will have it done prior to the entry due date. Remember, it is your responsibility to turn in your best times along with the supporting meet results in PDF form. Meet mobile is not accepted by MN swim as proof of times.
- Championship meets have minimum and maximum times to attend. This is to ensure that there are fair and leveled championships. Those interested in being considered for relays at state should sign up. Only commit if you are available for the complete meet. On each state meet landing page there is a document about the relay process and what is involved. Please read that before signing up.
GO TUNAs!
