TUNA Volunteer and Meet Official Information

TUNA Swim Club is a non-profit Board run organization. As such, having our families volunteer is critical to the success of our club. Our meets have a reputation for running smoothly with few problems. This is all due to our families understanding how important it is to participate as a volunteer. All households are required to volunteer every session. The volunteer requirement is posted here and included in registration for each session.

2025 Fall Session Volunteer Commitment**:

  • TUNA Swim Club is hosting a home meet on November 1st and 2nd. Saturday will be one session, and Sunday will be split into two sessions by age group. Each family must provide a minimum of one volunteer per session in which they have a swimmer registered to compete.
  • We will also have additional events that require volunteers: our annual Halloween relay events will be in late October and in November we will be having our annual swimathon.
  • Volunteer opportunities will be posted no later than September 22,2025.

**Families that opt out of fulfilling their volunteer requirement will be charged a $250 fee at the end of each session.

- Our volunteer coordinators, Beth Goers and Eric Neese will send out information when the meet positions are posted for sign up. Click HERE for our club’s volunteer policy and reach out to Karoline/Beth with volunteer questions.

-Additional volunteer opportunities may come up during the session and will be communicated as they arise.

**Families who opt out of fulfilling their minimum volunteer requirement will be billed $250.00 per session that the requirement is not fulfilled.

Important Points to Remember:

  • The volunteer commitment is a minimum. Additional events and activities do pop up and as they do, we will be looking for additional volunteers. These will be announced as they occur - don’t be shy about signing up for additional opportunities!
  • Notification of volunteer opportunities will be sent out via group e-mails.
  • Parents can sign-up on the TUNA website by selecting the 'job signup' link next to each event on the Team Events page.
  • Please check in at the Volunteer Check-In desk when you arrive at the meet. We want to make sure you receive credit for your shift!
  • If you cannot make your committed time, contact the Volunteer Coordinator or Meet/Event Director ASAP.
  • The minimum volunteer requirement for each family resets each session, so volunteering above the minimum amount does not carry over to the next session.
  • All decisions regarding required commitments and fees under this program will be managed by the BOD.
  • Don’t forget – in addition to the basic volunteer commitment, the club has many additional expanded volunteer positions. These include Meet Officials, Committee Chairs, and Board positions! Please see TUNA Member Volunteer Policy and Guidelines Document, position description links above.
